SERC’s leadership team comprises of Board of Directors and Advisory Panel. The board members will meet regularly to review the activities and set the policy directions of the SERC with support from the full-time research team.
The Advisory Panel is made up of a group of industry leaders and experts from various fields that will provide strategic guidance to the SERC in planning its research activities, towards becoming a leading research think tank.
The research team is led by the Executive Director who reports to the Board of Directors. SERC will also leverages on joint or collaborative research with external researchers for its research initiatives.

Lee Heng Guie holds a BA (Hons) majoring in Economics from University of Malaya, Malaysia and a Master’s Degree in Development Economics from Williams College, USA. He has more than 30 years of professional experience as an economist.

Senior Researcher
Lee Soon Thye joined SERC since 2014. He holds a Bachelor's Degree of Economics (Hons) majoring in Financial Economics from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Malaysia and subsequently acquired Master’s Degree of Economics from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2012.

Ong Qing Sheng holds a Bachelor of Economics from University of Adelaide and a Bachelor of Business and Commerce (Hons) majoring in Economics from Monash University Malaysia. He joined SERC in 2022.
